Volleyball Recap: Valley Vikings vs. Windsor Charter Academy Firebirds
Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Windsor Charter Academy Firebirds. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Firebirds apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Valley was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Windsor Charter Academy work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-19, 24-26, 25-21.
Jade Nevarez paced Valley's offense, picking up 13 kills. Nevarez really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 19. Laurissa Richards controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Windsor Charter Academy, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-6.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Valley will challenge rival Weld Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Windsor Charter Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Fort Morgan at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
