Football Recap: Heber Springs Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Heber Springs can now relate to. They came up short against the Prairie Grove Tigers on Friday, falling 34-14.

It was another big night for Elijah Sugg, who rushed for 252 yards and three scores while picking up 8.4 yards per carry for Prairie Grove. Sugg has become a key player for the Tigers: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. Prairie Grove also got a significant boost from Blake Coughran, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 101 yards.

Heber Springs has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Prairie Grove, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-5.

Heber Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Prairie Grove, they will take on Pocahontas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
