Baseball Recap: Durango Has No Trouble Against Pagosa Springs

Durango barely beat Pagosa Springs the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Demons put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 16-3 victory on Tuesday. The Demons haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Cole Clark looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Landin Padilla and Austin Romero did most of the damage at the plate: Padilla went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Romero scored four runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave Romero a new career-high. Dawson McInnes was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

Durango's record now sits at 8-3. As for Pagosa Springs, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Durango beat the Pirates by a score of 7-4 later that day.
