Softball Recap: Van Buren Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

The Van Buren Bulldogs were able to grind out a solid win over the Naylor Eagles on Thursday, taking the game 13-10.

Van Buren let Payton Sonsoucie and Katelyn Warner run wild. Sonsoucie went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Warner went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Warner is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Makayla Shepherd, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Van Buren has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Naylor, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10.

Van Buren has already played their next contest (against Clearwater), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Naylor also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Couch.
