Baseball Recap: Buhl Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Homedale, Buhl was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Gooding Senators a 21-0 shutout. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Colin Richards was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Porter Higley, who went 4-for-5 with four runs and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Broc Caldwell, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one stolen base.

Buhl always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .681. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Buhl now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Gooding, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Buhl beat the Senators by a score of 23-2 later that day.
