East Coweta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hillgrove Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture last Wednesday.
The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. After all that action, the final score was 28-26, 27-25.
East Coweta's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Hillgrove, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.
East Coweta is on the road again on Saturday to play Denmark at 12:00 p.m. East Coweta is facing Denmark at the right time seeing as Denmark is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hillgrove, they will face off against West Forsyth at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both are at an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2015, but likely not for long.
