Baseball Recap: Lake Placid Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Lake Placid entered their tilt with Crown Point on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 18-2 win. The Bombers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Jarrett Mihill made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Lake Placid let Jonathan Caito and Hyler Isham run wild. Caito went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles, while Isham went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. That's the most hits Caito has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Owen Lawrence, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Lake Placid's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Crown Point, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Lake Placid will square off against Bolton Central at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bombers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. Crown Point will be paying especially close attention to Lake Placid's match: after Lake Placid faces off against Schroon Lake, they'll take on Crown Point again at 4:30 p.m. on the 9th.
