Softball Recap: Roncalli Gets the Win

Roncalli won the last time they faced Carmel and things went their way on Thursday too. The Royals walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Greyhounds. That's two games straight that the Royals have won by exactly four runs.

Roncalli gave Kayla Brewer the start and clearly made the right call: she struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Roncalli let Morgan Curtis and Elise Baker run wild. Curtis went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double, while Baker went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Bennie Leffler was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Roncalli hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matchups.

Roncalli's record is now 19-5. As for Carmel, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.

Looking ahead, Roncalli will face off against Beech Grove at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Carmel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
