Baseball Game Preview: American Leadership Academy Eagles vs. Payson Lions

The American Leadership Academy Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Payson Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. American Leadership Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

American Leadership Academy saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of San Juan by a score of 8-7.

Daxen Stream was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

Meanwhile, Payson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 8-3 to Crimson Cliffs.

Payson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddux DeGraffenried, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Bosten Roseman also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

American Leadership Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Payson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. American Leadership Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Payson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

American Leadership Academy might still be hurting after the 12-5 defeat they got from Payson in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can American Leadership Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
