Basketball Recap: Camden County Takes a Loss

Camden County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 62-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Richmond Hill Wildcats. Camden County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Richmond Hill apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Camden County lost, don't look at Jaylen Johnson. Despite the final result, he went 5 for 8 on his way to 14 points and six assists. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Messiah Colon, who posted seven points and three steals.

Camden County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Richmond Hill, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-8.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Tift County the next time they take the court. Camden County will host Tift County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Richmond Hill will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
