Basketball Recap: Southern Wells Takes a Loss

Southern Wells was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Adams Central Flying Jets, falling 78-30. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-27 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Southern Wells lost, don't look at Cj Reber. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 21 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds. That was a full 66.7% of Southern Wells' points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Southern Wells' record now sits at 0-9. As for Adams Central, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Southern Wells will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Eastern at 1:30 p.m. on January 25th. As for Adams Central, they will face off against Heritage at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.6 points per game this season.
