Basketball Recap: College Park Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

College Park hadn't done well against Oak Ridge recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The College Park Cavaliers secured a 31-26 W over the Oak Ridge War Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 44-35 back in November of 2024.

College Park's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooke Smith, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Katie Westwood, who put up six points and six boards.

Oak Ridge lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Synarea Reece, who scored ten points and seven rebounds. Reece is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Kylee Jameson was another key player, putting up six points and three blocks.

College Park is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.2 points per game. As for Oak Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 15-15.

College Park will head out to take on Grand Oaks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grand Oaks will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something College Park surely won't give up without a fight. As for Oak Ridge, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against New Caney at 4:00 p.m. Oak Ridge is facing New Caney at the right time seeing as New Caney is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
