Baseball Recap: Chinle Victorious

Chinle hadn't beaten Page on the road since April 11, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Wildcats walked away with a 5-2 win over the Sand Devils. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Sand Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Hage Tsosie made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Tsosie wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mackaden Arthur, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. Arthur has become a key player for Chinle: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-7 otherwise. Another was Kaleb Guy, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Chinle now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Page, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.

Chinle didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-3 loss against St. Johns on the 3rd. As for Page, they have also already played their next match, a 9-0 win against Monument Valley on the 3rd.
