Cheyenne Mountain put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Doherty Spartans as Cheyenne Mountain made off with a 3-0 win. The Red-Tailed Hawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

Cheyenne Mountain was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-21, 25-19.

Carter Noleen paced Cheyenne Mountain's offense, picking up 13 kills. Noleen got some help from Ari Martin and his 27 assists. Finally, Tristan King kept Cheyenne Mountain's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Despite the defeat, Doherty had strong showings from Vincent Garcia, who had 13 digs, and Nathaniel Mai, who had 18 digs. Those 13 digs gave Garcia a new career-high.

Cheyenne Mountain's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to blocks: they averaged an imposing 5.25 blocks in those games compared to only 0.25 in the others. As for Doherty, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Cheyenne Mountain will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Coronado at 5:30 p.m. on April 1. Coronado will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Cheyenne Mountain surely won't give up without a fight. As for Doherty, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Sand Creek on the 22nd.
