Basketball Recap: Bunker Hill Piles Up the Points Against Dupo

A well-balanced attack led Bunker Hill over Dupo in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Bunker Hill Minutemen blew the Dupo Tigers out of the water with a 61-24 final score. The Minutemen have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 25 points or more this season.

Bunker Hill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cole Yates out in front who posted 22 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Yates has scored at least a third of Bunker Hill's points. Jake Spencer was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Dupo lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tanner Francis, who put up seven points. Francis is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

The win was the third in a row for Bunker Hill, bringing their record for this year to 5-11. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Dupo, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Bunker Hill will take on North Mac in a tournament on Monday. Bunker Hill is facing North Mac at the right time seeing as North Mac is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Dupo, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lebanon at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st.
