Chinle had already won 16 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.6 points) and they went ahead and made it 17 on Saturday. They walked away with a 53-42 victory over the Tuba City Warriors. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Warriors are ranked 34th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chinle had a senior duo take command as Dizhoon White went 9 for 15 en route to 22 points and five boards and Qoah Yazzie posted 18 points. With that strong performance, White is now averaging an impressive 15 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Lynch, who put up four points along with nine rebounds and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Tuba City lost, don't look at Aubrey Begaye. Despite the final result, she had nine points in addition to five boards and three steals. Jana West was another key player, putting up five points and five rebounds.

Chinle's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 27-1. As for Tuba City, their record now sits at 16-11.
