Volleyball Recap: Indio Rajahs vs. Brawley Wildcats

After flying high against Palm Springs last Tuesday, Indio came back down to earth. The Indio Rajahs came up short against the Brawley Wildcats on Thursday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Rajahs have suffered since August 27th.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-17, 25-19.

When it comes to explaining why Indio lost, don't look at Anitzi Zarco. Despite the final result, she had 27 digs. Zarco is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

Brawley can attribute much of their success to Kamryn Contreras, who had 14 digs.

Indio has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for Brawley, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Indio will play host again on Monday to welcome Yucca Valley, where is scheduled at 5:30 p.m. Indio is facing Yucca Valley at the right time seeing as Yucca Valley is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Brawley, they will venture away from home to face off against Calexico at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Brawley is looking to tack on another W to their ten-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
