Softball Game Preview: Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Bishop Union Broncos

The Roosevelt Rough Riders will head out on the road to take on the Bishop Union Broncos at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Roosevelt is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over Minarets. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rough Riders have posted since April 19, 2024.

Iyanna Molano made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Molano was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Molano wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Melaney Ortiz, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, while Bishop Union put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Legacy Christian Academy. The Broncos were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Lions. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Roosevelt's record now sits at 14-12. As for Bishop Union, their record is now 12-7.
