Softball Recap: Hamilton Heights Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

While Hamilton Heights put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Tipton. The Huskies put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 12-0 win. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Lily Cash made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hailey Hall, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Heather Crays, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Hamilton Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tipton only posted an OBP of .263.

Hamilton Heights' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Tipton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Hamilton Heights will challenge Lawrence Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tipton, they will take on Oak Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
