Basketball Recap: Bradenton Christian Triumphs

Bradenton Christian entered their tilt with Lakewood Ranch on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 50-49 win over the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in December of 2024, they had to take a 60-47 defeat.

Bradenton Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taylor Blunden led the charge by going 6 for 10 en route to 15 points and seven boards. Blunden has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. Lana Price was another key player, putting up 14 points and six rebounds.

Bradenton Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive matchups.

Bradenton Christian's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Lakewood Ranch, they dropped their record down to 10-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
