Basketball Recap: Maine South's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Tuesday

Vernon Hills typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Maine South proved too difficult a challenge. They enjoyed a cozy 45-28 win over the Vernon Hills Cougars. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Cougars are ranked 193rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Maine South's victory bumped their record up to 22-9. As for Vernon Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 19-11.
