Basketball Recap: Lamar Finds Playoff Glory Versus DSST: Conservatory Green

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lamar had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-47 victory over the DSST: Conservatory Green Hornets.

Lamar's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Dunning, who posted 15 points and five rebounds. Dunning is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gabrian Jacobs, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards.

Lamar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive contests.

DSST: Conservatory Green's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Finn Bradford, who put up 12 points and four steals. Bradford has become a key player for DSST: Conservatory Green: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 9-10 otherwise. Davon Allen was another key player, putting up 11 points and six rebounds.

Lamar's record is now 17-7. As for DSST: Conservatory Green, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season.

Lamar has already played their next matchup, a 66-51 loss against Fort Lupton on the 8th. DSST: Conservatory Green does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
