The Lafayette Hornets will face off against the Aucilla Christian Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lafayette is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Lafayette didn't have quite enough to beat Union County and fell 5-4. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Fightin' Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Khloe Crotts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ella McAdams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Lamb, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Aucilla Christian came into Thursday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let First Christian get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won four matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Makayla Kelly was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Aucilla Christian got a massive performance out of Alexandria Whaley, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Harli Ray, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Aucilla Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Lafayette now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Aucilla Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
Lafayette beat Aucilla Christian 3-0 in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
