Basketball Recap: Master's Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Phoenix Henderson and Naomi Powell

Master's Academy lost against Tradition Prep back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Master's Academy Patriots lost to the Tradition Prep Pirates on the road by a 44-28 margin. The Patriots were down 37-15 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Naomi Powell and Phoenix Henderson certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Powell went 6 for 11 on her way to 14 points and five rebounds, while Henderson posted eight points and eight rebounds. Those five rebounds gave Powell a new career-high.

Master's Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Tradition Prep, with the victory, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-4.

Master's Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Somerset College Prep Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Master's Academy is facing Somerset College Prep Academy at the right time seeing as Somerset College Prep Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Tradition Prep, they will welcome Westwood at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
