Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mallard Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Troy Griffin, who went 5 for 6 en route to 12 points and four steals. Griffin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed four or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Washington, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 13 points and three steals.
Mallard Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Chambers' strategy against West Charlotte on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Chambers blew West Charlotte out of the water with a 93-61 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cougars had established a 24 point advantage.
Mallard Creek better focus on containing Tarris Bouie III and Markus Kerr as the pair were huge in Chambers' win. Bouie III almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds, while Kerr went 10 for 14 en route to 25 points and seven boards. Kerr is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Desmond Martin was another key player, putting up nine points.
Chambers is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 87.8 points per game. As for Mallard Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Mallard Creek has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Chambers struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Mallard Creek was taken down by Chambers 94-61 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Mallard Creek was down 67-39.
