Basketball Game Preview: George Stevens Academy Eagles vs. Sumner Tigers

The George Stevens Academy Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Sumner Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

George Stevens Academy is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Central just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 53-40 to the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, Sumner entered their game against Bucksport on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Sumner was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to Bucksport. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

George Stevens Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Sumner, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.

George Stevens Academy beat Sumner 50-41 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for George Stevens Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
