Basketball Recap: Hyannis Comes Up Short

If Hyannis was riding high fresh off their 50-24 takedown of Potter-Dix last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hyannis Longhorns fell to the Hay Springs Hawks 41-37. The Longhorns were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hawks earlier this season, when they won 36-35.

Hay Springs was led to victory by Devyn Young and Kya Binger. Young went 5-for-7 on her way to 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks, while Binger posted 14 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Young a new career-high in shooting accuracy (71%).

Hyannis' loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Hay Springs, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Hyannis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hay Springs, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 41-36 win against Crawford on the 21st.
