Effie Drew was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Gordon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kaitlynn Barnes, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
Camden County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Heide Trask won against Whiteville on Friday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Titans put the hurt on Jordan-Matthews with a sharp 10-4 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Titans, who have now won four matches in a row.
Dava Bullard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.
On the hitting side, Lauren Hall was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Jalyn Reece-Murray was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Camden County's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Heide Trask, their record now sits at 16-8.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Camden County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. However, it's not like Heide Trask struggles in that department as they've averaged .477. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
