Baseball Game Preview: Brunswick Dragons vs. Camden Hills Windjammers

The Brunswick Dragons will square off against the Camden Hills Windjammers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Brunswick will be strutting in after a win while Camden Hills will be coming in after a loss.

Brunswick came out on top against Mt. Blue on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Dragons walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Cougars. That's two games straight that the Dragons have won by exactly four runs.

Lism Scholl was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.8 strikeouts per game. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Henry Blood was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Camden Hills came up short against Bangor on Monday, falling 13-3. The Windjammers have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Cole Hedrich made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Brunswick and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Camden Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Brunswick took their win against Camden Hills in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 9-1 score. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Windjammers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
