Basketball Game Preview: North Gaston Wildcats vs. South Point Red Raiders

North Gaston is 1-9 against South Point since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The North Gaston Wildcats will welcome the South Point Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

North Gaston is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They were dealt a 75-40 defeat at the hands of Ashbrook. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 451st, while the Greenwave are ranked 42nd).

Meanwhile, South Point was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 69-63 to Crest. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (55), the Red Raiders still had to take the loss.

North Gaston's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for South Point, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7.
