Softball Recap: 21 Straight Home Wins for Ashwaubenon

Ashwaubenon put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's fifth consecutive shutout on Thursday. They never let the Sheboygan South Redwings get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Grace Aichele made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Ashwaubenon got a massive performance out of Peyton Crutcher, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Crutcher has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gianna Guarascio, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Ashwaubenon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .800. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Ashwaubenon pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Sheboygan South, they are on a 38-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.
