South Warren faced Warren East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Spartans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Raiders. The victory was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on 12 straight.

The result came thanks to Courtney Norwood's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 19 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, South Warren saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. Junior Parker Willoughby was on fire at the plate for the Spartans going 3 for 4, with a double and a triple on the championship night. Another one of them was Hadley Borders, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

South Warren's win was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 34-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Warren East, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 25-12 record.

As of now, neither South Warren nor the Raiders have any future games scheduled.
