Basketball Recap: Sparks Snaps 11-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Sparks came into Wednesday's contest having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Truckee Wolverines by a score of 28-16 on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Railroaders: when they faced off against the Wolverines back in January, they had to take a 33-26 loss.

Sparks' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bailey Hunden, who posted ten points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Shea Patterson, who earned eight points along with eight boards and three steals.

Truckee's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Becca Brown, who had seven points, and Sophia Killian, who scored eight points.

Sparks' victory ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-10. As for Truckee, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Sparks has already played their next game (against Wooster), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Truckee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-24 loss against North Valleys on the 31st.
