Baseball Recap: Titusville Takes a Loss

If Titusville was riding high fresh off their 17-7 takedown of Brevard HEAT last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Titusville fell just short of the Cocoa Beach Minutemen by a score of 6-5 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Terriers of the 6-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Titusville has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. Cocoa Beach pushed their record up to 9-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Titusville will challenge Bishop Moore at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Titusville's pitchers better be ready for this one: Bishop Moore has averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season. As for Cocoa Beach, they will face off against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
