Baseball Game Preview: Harrisburg Eagles vs. Glide Wildcats

The Harrisburg Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Glide Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Things were looking good for Harrisburg after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Dayton by a score of 7-6. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Christian Baird was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Baird was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Chase Herrera was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Harrisburg: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-11-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jesse McKibben, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Glide came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Vikings by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-7.

Harrisburg's loss dropped their record down to 7-12-1. As for Glide, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.

Harrisburg might still be hurting after the 13-6 defeat they got from Glide in their previous meeting back in May of 2018. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
