Basketball Recap: Macomb Triumphs

Macomb's game on Friday was all tied up 18-18 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They snuck past the Illini West Chargers with a 42-38 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 33-26 back in November.

Illini West's loss came despite strong showings from Wesley Robertson and Ethan Carlisle. Robertson went 7 of 14 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds, while Carlisle posted ten points.

Macomb is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Illini West, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3.

Macomb will welcome Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. As for Illini West, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 48-36 victory against Mercer County on the 14th.
