For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Newman Smith and Creekview meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Trojans came up short against the Mustangs, falling 3-0.
Newman Smith was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Creekview work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-19, 26-24, 25-16.
Meanwhile, Lone Star got the win against The Colony on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0. The Rangers haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-13, 25-14.
Newman Smith better focus on containing Kaitlyn Smith and Tilah Perez as the pair were huge in Lone Star's win. Smith had 14 assists and seven digs, while Perez had seven digs and two aces. That's the most aces Perez has posted since back in August.
