Basketball Game Preview: Eau Claire Shamrocks vs. Fairfield Central Griffins

Eau Claire and Fairfield Central are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Eau Claire Shamrocks will head out to face off against the Fairfield Central Griffins at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eau Claire has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Last Tuesday, Eau Claire humbled Chester with a 69-24 victory. The contest marked the Shamrocks' most dominant win of the season so far.

Meanwhile, Fairfield Central waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They escaped with a win against the Red Devils by the margin of a single free throw, 53-52.

Eau Claire better keep an eye on Khaleb Feaster. He was instrumental in Fairfield Central's win, going 7 of 13 en route to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Kamauri Jones, who posted nine points.

Fairfield Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Fairfield Central pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Eau Claire, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-3.

Eau Claire came up short against Fairfield Central in their previous matchup on January 14th, falling 40-35. Can Eau Claire avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
