Softball Game Preview: Lancaster Redskins vs. Clarence Red Devils

The Lancaster Redskins will venture away from home to challenge the Clarence Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Lancaster fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Williamsville North on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Redskins have suffered since May 12, 2025.

Matthews Maddy was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off 11 hits (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, Alyssa Brunner made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Isabella DiMino was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Clarence sidestepped Frontier for a 2-1 victory.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lancaster fell to 2-1. As for Clarence, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
