Softball Recap: Springville Starts Season with Win Against Timpanogos

Springville had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Timpanogos Timberwolves as the Springville Red Devils made off with a 12-5 victory. The win continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now won eight in a row.

Brooklynn Richardson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Morgan Fairbourne, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Mary Finlayson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Coincidentally, Springville and Timpanogos will both be playing American Fork the next time they take the field. Springville will head out to face American Fork at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Timpanogos will host them at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
