Softball Recap: Ewing Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Ewing ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the East Brunswick Bears 13-12. For the Blue Devils, this counts as revenge for the 5-2 victory the Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Emily Gamboa Ordini was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Peyton Hansbury, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Ewing lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Ewing is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for East Brunswick, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-3.

As of now, neither Ewing nor the Bears have any future games scheduled.
