Preview: Carson Colts vs. Huntington Park Spartans
The Carson Colts will face off against the Huntington Park Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Carson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Huntington Park likes a good challenge.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Carson walked away with it. They breezed by the Panthers at home to the tune of 91-48 on Friday. Carson's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Carson had a senior duo take command as Jacob Ortega scored 40 points and Ezekiel Harry scored 34 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ortega has scored at least a third of Carson's points. Curtis Sproull Jr. was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, Huntington Park didn't have too much trouble with Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences at home on Friday as they won 71-54. The win made it back-to-back wins for Huntington Park.
Carson's victory bumped their record up to 11-16. As for Huntington Park, their win bumped their record up to 12-16.
