Monticello entered their tilt with St. Joseph-Ogden on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Spartans. The Sages have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Monticello who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 23-25, 25-15.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Monticello to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mady Melton, who had 12 digs and four assists. Melton is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Walsh, who had seven digs and two aces.

Monticello's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for St. Joseph-Ogden, their loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-12.

Monticello has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Illinois Valley Central on the 2nd. As for St. Joseph-Ogden, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Cissna Park on the 1st.
