Travis Varela has led Maricopa in stolen bases on the season and he led the team again on Tuesday. Varela produced his best game of the campaign: he scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Looking ahead, Varela and Maricopa are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: Maricopa will face off against Cholla at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Varela has dominated as far as stolen bases are concerned (he's averaged 1.6 per game this season), but he's got his work cut out for him considering the Chargers have only allowed zero per game this season.
