Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Anacortes). They enjoyed a cozy 65-49 victory over the Sehome Mariners on Friday. Given the Seahawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Mariners are ranked 177th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win was the third in a row for Anacortes, bringing their record for this year to 5-1. As for Sehome, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anacortes won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cedarcrest at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Anacortes' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches. As for Sehome, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Nooksack Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
