Baseball Recap: Spring Hill Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Columbia Academy, Spring Hill was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Page Patriots 4-3. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won five in a row.

Gary Cox was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cox was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Cox wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was William Bailey, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Spring Hill is 3-1 when Bailey posts two or more stolen bases, but 7-14 otherwise. Clay Robinson was another, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Spring Hill's victory bumped their record up to 10-15. As for Page, they dropped their record down to 17-14 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Spring Hill will host Warren County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Page does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
