Volleyball Recap: Jade Perez and Gabriella Alvarado Secure Win for Laton + How To Watch

Laton not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 17, 2024 (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against the Maricopa Indians as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Laton was: they took every set by at least 17 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-1, 25-8.

Leading Laton to victory were Gabriella Alvarado and Jade Perez. Alvarado hit 70.8% for 18 kills and 20 aces and nine assists, while Perez had nine aces and four assists. Those 70.8% hitting percentage gave Alvarado a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Laton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 33 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in eight consecutive matches dating back to last season.

The win got Laton back to even at 3-3. As for Maricopa, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Coming up, Laton will venture away from home to challenge Alpaugh at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Maricopa, they will host Coastal Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
