The Bozeman Bucks will challenge the Walton Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bozeman will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.
Bozeman is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They put the hurt on Rutherford with a sharp 19-1 victory. The Bucks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 games by seven runs or more this season.
Avery Obert looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Presley Thomason was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. Leah Peacock also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Bozeman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 14 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Walton made sure to put some runs up on the board against Pensacola Catholic on Monday. The Braves were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Crusaders. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Bella Baker made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Baker was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Zayleigh Jackson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Chyanne Gregor, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Bozeman's record is now 23-3. As for Walton, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
Everything went Bozeman's way against Walton in their previous matchup back in March, as Bozeman made off with a 12-5 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bucks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
