Basketball Recap: Buford Comes Up Short

Buford played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Chesterfield Golden Rams an easy 59-35 victory. The defeat continues a trend for the Yellow Jackets in their matchups with the Golden Rams: they've now lost five in a row.

Chesterfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trinity Turnage led the charge by putting up 16 points in addition to six assists and five boards. What's more, Turnage also racked up five steals, the most she's had since back in January. Another player making a difference was Temia Chapman, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards.

Buford's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Chesterfield, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-5.

Buford will take on Cheraw in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chesterfield, they will look to defend their home court on December 26th against Lewisville at 7:00 p.m.
