Softball Recap: Lake Gibson Takes a Loss

Lake Gibson and Auburndale squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Lake Gibson had to settle for second. They lost 10-4 to the Bloodhounds. The Braves haven't had much luck with the Bloodhounds recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Andrea Lewis was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Lewis wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Vazquez, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Lake Gibson's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Auburndale, they moved to 6-20 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Lake Gibson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Auburndale, they will face off against Sebring at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
